Independence Contract Drilling was founded in 2011 by a group of experienced industry professionals with a goal to provide high-performance drilling services to the energy sector. The company was established to address the growing demand for reliable, cost-effective drilling solutions in the U.S. oil and gas market. From its inception, ICD set itself apart with a focus on safety, operational efficiency, and innovation in its fleet of drilling rigs.
Throughout our history, ICD has focused on delivering reliable, efficient, and safe drilling services to its customers. Our rig fleet, which we market under our ShaleDriller® brand, is made up of technologically advanced rigs that are all capable of handling complex and deep drilling operations. Our rigs are designed for operations in some of the most challenging and profitable oil and gas fields in the United States, including the Permian Basin, the Haynesville Shale, and other key production areas.
Despite challenges in the industry, such as the volatility of oil prices and market demand fluctuations, ICD is continuing to adapt and grow. By embracing new technologies and maintaining a strong commitment to service excellence, we are able to navigate market cycles and continue to expand our operations.

More About Anthony
From April 2006 through September 2010, Anthony held the position of Vice President Business Development of Scorpion Offshore. Scorpion Offshore was an international offshore drilling contractor with operations across the globe which was acquired by Seadrill in 2010. Prior to joining Scorpion Offshore, he held operational, marketing, corporate planning and management positions with Atwood Oceanics, Transocean and Ensco.
Anthony serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Natural Gas Services Group (NYSE: NGS) as an Independent Director, where he serves on the Audit Committee and the Safety & Sustainability Committees.
Anthony started his career working as a roughneck on offshore drilling rigs in the U.S. Gulf of America. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the International Association of Drilling Contractors. Anthony is a veteran of the US Army and holds a B.B.A. from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. from Rice University.

Philip is one of our original founders and has served as our Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since August 2016, as our Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from March 2012 to August 2016, and as our Senior Vice President and General Counsel from November 2011 until March 2012. Prior to joining us, Mr. Choyce served as the Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer of Grant Prideco, Inc., one of the world’s largest suppliers of drill pipe and drill bits, from its spinoff into a new public company in 2000 until its sale to National Oilwell Varco in 2008. Prior to joining Grant Prideco, Mr. Choyce was a Senior Associate at Fulbright & Jaworski LLP. Mr. Choyce began his career as a certified public accountant at Ernst & Young LLP. Mr. Choyce graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.B.A. in Accounting and received his law degree from the University of Texas in Austin.
Philip A. Dalrymple

Prior to joining the company, Philip was employed at Rowan Companies Inc., where he was a lead project engineer overseeing construction of offshore drilling rigs from 2010 until 2013. Philip served in roles with increasing responsibility in Rowan’s drilling operations, including Rig Manager and Safety Specialist. Philip holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and is a member of the International Association of Drilling Contractors.
Scott A. Keller

Prior to joining Sidewinder, Scott held the position of International Business Development Manager for Allis Chalmers Energy from March 2007 to November 2011. Allis Chalmers was an oil field service conglomerate with equipment based across both domestic and international markets before its combination with Archer in 2011. Before joining Allis Chalmers, he held sales and business development roles for several oilfield service companies including Quality Rental Tools, and Varco.
Scott holds a B.B.A. from Texas A&M University and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the International Association of Drilling Contractors.
Katherine Kokenes
VP & Chief Accounting Officer
More About Katherine
Katherine has served as our Chief Accounting Officer since May 2020 before being promoted to her current role as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer in December 2020. Prior to her current role, she served as our Director of Financial Reporting from June 2015 to May 2020 and as our Corporate Controller from August 2013 to June 2015.
Prior to joining us, Katherine held various positions, the most recent of which was Assistant Controller at Nabors Industries, Ltd., a publicly traded drilling contractor, from January 2010 to August 2013, and served in similar positions as well with Nabors from January 1996 until December 2000. From 2001 until 2009, Katherine owned and operated a private mortgage company.
Katherine, a certified public accountant, holds a B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Marc S. Noel

Prior to joining ICD, Marc held various roles of increasing responsibility at Strata Control Services and Turbo Chem International—both specialty chemical providers focused on wellbore stability solutions for land and offshore drilling applications across U.S. and international markets.
Marc is an active member of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), currently serving on the Houston Chapter Board of Directors and as Chairman of its Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
